IntroductionWhy Hiykal?

Introduction

Every organisation that serves its community needs an official website that introduces it, publishes its documents openly, takes registrations for its events and shares its news. Building that from scratch is expensive and maintaining it is tiring. So we built Hiykal: one proven, ready system that takes on your identity and becomes your own website.

Part one

Who Hiykal is built for

Any organisation with a mission and an audience that wants an official website it can run itself, without a developer.

1

Non-profit associations

Charitable, development and professional associations that need to show their licence, board and financial statements to the public and to donors.

  • Governance
  • Financial transparency
  • Board
2

Forums & conferences

Forums, conferences and gatherings that live on their events: announcements, a custom registration form, application review and attendee follow-up.

  • Events
  • Registration forms
  • Review
3

Institutions & endowments

Civil institutions, endowments and committees that need a dignified public face for their news, annual reports and enquiries.

  • Annual reports
  • News
4

Initiatives & committees

Volunteer teams, committees and new initiatives that start with a complete official site on day one and add modules as they grow.

  • Quick start
  • Lower cost

The features

Ten articles that cover everything Hiykal gives your organisation: the public site, the dashboard, and what runs behind them.

  4. Hero image, tagline and licence number.
  5. Social accounts: X, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and Facebook.
  6. Custom theme when you want a distinct look on the same system.

Events & registration

Each event gets a registration form you build yourself, and full follow-up until acceptance.

  1. Form builder: choose fields, order them and mark the required ones.
  2. Seat limits and automatic opening and closing dates.
  3. Place and map for every event, with a summary on its card.
  4. Change status from the list, one by one or many at once.
  5. Email messages: confirmation to the applicant, alerts to your team, and the decision.
  6. Export to Excel all applicants and answers in one click.
  7. Safe attachments, type-checked and visible to your team only.
  8. Internal notes on each application that applicants never see.

News & media

A home for your news and achievements: write, review, then publish.

  1. Categories defined by your team.
  2. Draft, then publish: nothing goes live until you approve it.
  3. Share buttons for social platforms on every post.
  4. Rich link previews with image and title when shared.
  5. RSS feed for automatic following.
Article VI6

Contact

Messages from the public arrive in one inbox in the dashboard.

  1. Contact form protected from spam.
  2. Map, address and working hours.
  3. WhatsApp button, phone and email.
  4. Inbox with an email alert for each new message.
Article VII7

The dashboard

A fully Arabic dashboard, easy for staff, in your own colours.

  1. Live figures on the first page with the latest registrations.
  2. Switch modules on or off; a disabled module disappears from site and dashboard.
  3. User permissions to share the work across your team.
  4. Search and filters across news, applications and messages.

Article VIII8

Language & usability

Arabic first in everything, with English available.

  1. Right-to-left designed for Arabic from the ground up.
  2. English version with a language switch on every page.
  3. Automatic text direction so English text displays correctly inside Arabic pages.
  4. Mobile-ready on every page and form.
Article IX9

Security

Applicants’ data is a trust, and Hiykal is built on that.

  1. Encrypted HTTPS with a certificate that renews itself.
  2. Private files never open from a direct link; only your signed-in team sees them.
  3. File checks by real content, not by extension, with a size limit.
  4. Form protection with rate limits and a trap for bots.
  5. Privacy policy edited from the dashboard.
  6. Daily backups of the database and files, kept for 14 days.
Article X10

Operations & updates

What visitors never see, but what keeps your site fast and stable.

  1. Your own domain, such as your-org.org.sa.
  2. Search engines: a sitemap and a description for every page.
  3. Error pages in your identity instead of technical screens.
  4. Continuous updates reaching every organisation from one tested system.
  5. Modern stack: Django, PostgreSQL and Docker.
Part three

Hosting & data ownership

Choose where your site runs. Either way, your organisation’s data belongs to you alone.

Option one

Managed hosting

We host your site and handle everything technical, so you can focus on content.

  • Operation, monitoring and updates by our team
  • HTTPS certificate and daily backups
  • An isolated environment for your organisation only
  • Live within days
Full control Option two

Private hosting

Hiykal runs on your own server or with a cloud provider you choose, inside the Kingdom if you prefer.

  • Data stays on your server and never leaves it
  • Full access to the database and files
  • Backups and restores in your hands
  • We install the system and train your IT team
Isolated dataA database and files for your organisation alone, shared with no one.
Full ownershipYour data is yours, and we never use it for anything else.
Export anytimeApplicants to Excel, and a complete data copy on request.
No lock-inIf you decide to move, you take all your data with you.
Part four

One system, many identities

The same system takes on each organisation’s identity. Here are three fictional organisations running on Hiykal.
